Description

Otter's ideal home

Otter is looking for a home with caring adopters who can take him on lots of fun new adventures and will show him what it is like to live in a loving home. He can live with children aged 6 and over who will play nicely with him and give him space to rest when he needs. Otter would happily live in a home with another relaxed dog who is happy to co-exist and engage in some occasional play, but this is not a necessity, he would be happy with friendly walking buddies, he cannot live with cats or other small furries. He does have touch training, but is not very interested in learning new skills, he can be enticed to engage for a smelly treat. Because of his prey drive Otter will be going home on a lead and muzzle disclaimer, he will need housetraining and would benefit from time off lead to explore so a private, secure garden is needed. He will settle alone so could be left for up to 2-4 hours, this should be built up gradually once he has had time to settle into his new home. Otter will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Could you be Otter's perfect match?

Cool guy Otter is a 4 year old Greyhound who loves a snuggle. He will seek you out for fusses and will lean his head close to your chest for more. He’s a handsome lad who loves a gentle potter before stretching out and snoozing on a nice squishy bed. He doesn’t really have an interest in toys, preferring human attention to solo play. He is a bit of a ditsy lad at times and will be sure to give his family lots of laughs.

Greyhound Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
