Joy's ideal home

Joy is looking for a home where she can be the only dog, but she would benefit from walking with other dogs whilst out and about. Her new home will also need a secure garden so she has somewhere to safely run around and play. Due to her size, we believe she would be better suited to living with children aged seven or older. Joy isn't a fan of travelling in the car so would prefer a home that doesn't need to regularly travel. Once she has settled in she could be left for up to six hours if she had breaks and provided this time was built up slowly.

Could you be Joy's perfect match?

Joy is a three-year-old Greyhound who stumbled onto our doorstep at Christmas time as a stray with an injury to her tail because she was wagging it so much (hence her name!) She is a wonderfully affectionate girl who adores people and cannot get enough cuddles! She also likes cosy beds with lots of blankets, playing with her toys and eating food! Joy has taken everything in her stride since arriving but she will need a home that will continue her training around other dogs and that understands she may not have experienced much of domestic life. Everyone here adores her. She provides what she says on the tin – JOY!

Greyhound Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
