Description

Neville's ideal home

Neville is a three-year-old Greyhound who has had experience of home life in a foster home on our home from Home Scheme. Neville is friendly with visitors to the home. He is looking for a home with adults and to be the only pet in the home. He loves to travel in the car. Neville was housetrained using positive reward training, he may need a refresher once he is in a new home. Neville would best suit a quiet home environment with a garden. He may take a bit of time to settle-in initially. He is used to having company so time left alone will need to be built up gradually once he has settled into his new home. Experience of the breed would be beneficial.

Could you be Neville's perfect match?

Neville is a lovely boy who is always happy to see you. His nickname is 'Big Nev'. He is affectionate and adores a fuss, he will lean into you for ear rubs and a stroke. He loves to go for walks and plods along gently right by your side. He is a big fav' with his carers and often enjoys an off-site walk. He has visited quiet local cafes while his human grabs a coffee and Neville enjoys a fresh bowl of water. He does not mind calm dogs that will plod along and do their own thing join him on walks. Neville is not a fan of walking in the rain. He has great name response, and he knows a ‘sit’. Neville has been trained to happily wear a muzzle when out on his walks; as he is an ex-racing Greyhound he once had a chase drive. Neville is an absolute couch-potato and loves nothing more than stretching out and taking naps. In his home he loves his bed and when he is settled, he will need his own safe space where he can relax and chill. Neville enjoys playing with toys, he likes a ball, and he likes soft squeaky toys. He loves his food and treats and enjoys an easy win food puzzle.

Greyhound Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
